Tupelo’s Daily Journal features Oxford Treatment Center

Oxford Treatment Center was featured in a half-page story in the Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, edition of The Daily Journal. The Tupelo-based newspaper covers all of northeastern Mississippi. The story was also distributed nationally through The Associated Press.

Daily Journal writer Errol Castens and photographer Adam Robison visited Oxford Treatment Center in early January to hear about the center’s work in helping patients escape the bonds of addiction. In his story, Castens described the process of detox and recovery, and interviewed a former patient about her experience. “It’s a long process, and it’s terrifying at first,” Emily, 20, told him. Her advice to those still mired in addictive behaviors: “I would tell them to hold on and not give up. Miracles happen every day. I am one.”
